DCT coils are normally constructed either for feedback mode or for connection to a signal generator. This design combines both functions in a single dual-purpose coil.
The principle is simple. The coil is enclosed within a non-conductive tube, with a copper end cap fitted at each end. The coil is electrically connected to the two copper end caps, allowing the device to be held and used as a feedback coil. Wires are also connected to the end caps and terminated with a plug for connection to a signal generator. The result is a compact coil that can be used in either mode.
Build Hints
Wind the coil as described in Building the DCT Coil and Complete System.
Remove the enamel from the ends of the Constantan wire using sandpaper and solder each end onto a short length of 16 AWG wire. Cover the soldered joints with heat-shrink tubing if desired, then attach a ring tag to the other end of each wire. Bend each ring tag through 90 degrees so that it will fit inside the copper end cap.
Place the coil centrally inside the plastic tube, leaving approximately equal space at each end. Fill the space on both sides of the coil with hot glue to secure it in position.
Use a 5/32 (4 mm) screw through each copper end cap. The internal ring tag from the coil and the external ring tag connected to the signal-generator lead are secured to the same screw, providing the electrical connection through the end cap.
Apply glue to the inside of each copper end cap and push the caps firmly onto the ends of the tube.
Parts List
16–14 gauge ring tags — 4
5/32 × 1/2 inch (4 mm × 12 mm) cap-head screws — 2
5/32 inch (4 mm) nuts — 2
12 feet (3.7 m) of 32-gauge Constantan wire
3/16–3/32 inch (5–2 mm) heat-shrink tubing
3/8 inch (9.5 mm) wooden dowel — 2 inches (51 mm)
Cocktail sticks, used to wedge the wire into the dowel — 2
3/4 inch copper tube end caps, inside diameter 7/8 inch (0.875 inch / approximately 22.2 mm)
3/4 inch CTS CPVC (SDR 11), actual outside diameter 7/8 inch (0.875 inch / approximately 22.2 mm) — 3 inches (76.2 mm)
16 AWG wire for connecting the coil to the ring tags
IMPORTANT: The required outside diameter of the plastic tube is 22.2 mm (0.875 inch / 7/8 inch). Do not substitute ordinary 3/4 inch PVC pipe, as its dimensions are different.
Feedback Mode Usage
In feedback mode, the coil is used independently of the signal generator.
Sit comfortably, relax and hold the coil by one or both of the copper end caps. As this configuration is being explored experimentally, there is currently no established duration or frequency of use. Begin with shorter periods and explore the effects for yourself, stopping if at any point you feel uncomfortable.
You can also experiment with different ways of holding the coil — for example, holding one end cap in a single hand or holding an end cap in each hand — and observe whether the experience changes.
We would be very interested to receive observations from anyone experimenting with this configuration.

Signal Generator Mode
For normal DCT operation, connect the coil to the signal generator using the attached lead. In this configuration, the dual-purpose coil functions in the same way as the standard DCT coil and can be used with the frequencies employed for remedy generation.
For details of the process and frequency use, see Therapeutic Remedy Generation.

Double Coil Technology (DCT) is an experimental technology that we have been exploring for healing, consciousness and other applications. We are not currently aware of others working with the technology in the same way.
